Rahane and Rachin did a partnership of 50+ runs keeping Super Kings hopes alive. The match was never one-sided as CSK kept making runs and losing wickets. In the last over 17 runs were required to qualify for playoffs.

If you have a doubt, always bowl a high, hip-high, full-toss, on-leg stump. Wherever he is, it’s a good mantra to follow when the ball is wet,” he added on a lighter note.

Then Yash Dayal bowled all other balls slower leading Royal Challengers Bengaluru to victory and place in IPL 2024 playoffs. Captain Faf du Plessis got the man of the match award for his crucial knock but he gave that award to Yash. Yash’s father said, “Woh darawana sapna firse aa raha tha jab Dhoni ne pehli ball pe sixer mara” after six of first ball in final over.

On the very next day of the match, M.S Dhoni went to his home in Ranchi. One video also went viral on social media where Dhoni was seen returning to the dressing room without shaking hands with opponents. People started speculating about his presence in IPL 2025.
“I think this is it. I do believe that this will be the last time that MS Dhoni will play. Certainly won’t be the last time that we see MS Dhoni. I’d be very surprised if he doesn’t mentor or be a part of the family of CSK in an official capacity,” Matthew Hayden said.
But former CSKIAN Ambati Rayudu‘s view was contrasting, he said “I don’t think this is his last game. I just don’t see him wanting to end on this note. He looked a little frustrated, even when he got out. That’s very unlike MS Dhoni, he just wanted to qualify and finish on a high. But you never know with MS Dhoni, he might come back next year. And with the impact player role as well, it allows him to be able to come in those last few overs and truly make that impact. BCCI better not remove the impact player role because we still want to see MS Dhoni play. So, it’s up to BCCI now. Do we want to see MS Dhoni play or not.”
