The TATA Indian Premier League 2024 Final was played between Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad in M.A. Chidambaram Stadium Chennai. KKR beat SRH by 8 wickets in a low-scoring match. Kolkata won their 3rd IPL Title after a long 10-year wait. Mitchell Starc was awarded Man of the Match for explosive bowling in the finals. Virat Kohli got the Orange Cap for scoring 741 runs in 15 matches. Harshal Patel got a Purple Cap for taking 24 wickets in 14 matches.

Pat Cummins won the toss and invited table toppers to bowl first. SRH didn’t start well as Travis Head again got out for a golden duck and his partner was bowled by the Most Expensive IPL 2024 player Mitchell Starc. After that, they kept losing wickets as there were no partnerships. Captain was the highest scorer with 24 runs. All the bowlers KKR used took wickets restricting SRH to just 113 runs in 18.3 overs.

Although 113 runs were a walk for Kolkata Knight Riders, Pat Cummins took the crucial wicket of Explosive opener Sunil Narine after going for Six in his very first ball. After that, KKR batters didn’t look back. Venkatesh Iyer started his innings with 4,6,6 of Bhuvbeshwar Kumar setting a foundation for 8 wicket win. He scored 52 runs off 26 balls with the help of 3 sixes and 4 fours. Kolkata chased down the target in just 63 balls to win his 3rd IPL Title after 10 years.

This guy deserves all the credit in the world for the way he has been working for this franchise. This win is for the fans who turned up year after year and waited for ten years.
Abhishek Nayar: It means everything. I started playing IPL in the first season and it has taken me 16 years for the first title after two finals. Happy for the boys. I cannot express how happy I am. The big man [Russell] turned up as usual. It is the most surreal feeling I have had in a long time.
